Thibault Charnay returned to his family domaine in 2012, after running his own construction company for several years. He now grows 12 hectares of Gamay located around Anse on Pierres Dorées (golden limestone) soil.
Encouraged by his brother-in-law Raphael of Domaine Saint Cyr, Thibault decided to convert to organic farming in 2019, as well as vinifying and bottling his own wine (rather than selling it to négociants).
Cold carbonic fermentation and indigenous yeasts, resulting in vibrant and delicious Beaujolais.
Thibault Charnay’s Gamay comes from the Pierres Dorées - the golden limestone soil of the southern part of Beaujolais.
Grapes are grown organically and vinified naturally. Cold carbonic fermentation for one week and ageing for 5-6 months in concrete tanks. It’s easy to drink! Serve slightly chilled in warmer weather.
