DOMAINE DAMIEN COQUELET

Damien Coquelet is the only winemaker we work with who can truly claim to have started working in the winery at just 10 years old (under the tutelage of step-father Georges Descombes). Damien started his own Domaine at 20 and has some fantastic parcels in the Côte de Py in Morgon as well as being a pioneer in the hugely under-valued appellation of Chiroubles. Damien is often to be found hand delivering his own wine to Paris which is just one of the factors in establishing him firmly in the new generation of Beaujolais.

The definition of fine wine is in constant motion, for us underpinned by the key principles of great terroir and skilled winemaking. Standing in Damien’s cellar, drinking his Côte de Py from 2010 it is clear that fine wine exists and is flourishing in Beaujolais.
