Palazzo Tronconi is an impressive estate in a beautiful area North of Naples, with a state-of-the-art subterranean winery with restaurant and guest rooms above ground, designed by Roberto Mazzer. Everything is done along biodynamic principles and they are Demeter certified.
The ancient grape varieties of the old Kingdom of Naples are tenderly cultivated with soil health being at the heart of their work. You can find Lecinaro and Black Ulivello, Pampanaro, Capolongo and Maturano bianco, as well as Malvasia Puntinata, Moscato di Terracina and Syrah.
All wines are spontaneously fermented and refined in cement tanks, terracotta
amphorae or in oak or acacia wood. The wines do not undergo any chemical and physical treatment, clarification and filtration are banned. The wines are bottled strictly following the phases of the moon.
Fregellae was an important Roman colony famed for its natural springs and cultivation of grapes. Capolongo has been recently rediscovered in Lazio and Palazzo Tronconi are one of the few producers to make a 100% Capolongo. This is a golden wine with floral scent and a fruity palette.
