Ca' Lustra - Zanovello Selection

Franco Zanovello

Ca’ Lustra's vineyards are nestled among gorgeous green shady slopes, in the heart of the Colli Euganei Regional Park. Ca' Lustra Zavonello Selection's roots lie in the genuine passion of the Zanovello family, their deep knowledge of the region, and their dedication to nature and sustainable agriculture (they have been farming organically since 2007).

Their journey started in the 1960’s, when Angelo Zanovello bought the house in Faedo as a countryside retreat. In 1977 Franco, fascinated by winemaking, turned an old room in the stables into a winery. His knowledge and contagious commitment grew fast (along with the business) and now the family farm of 42 hectares (25 of which are vineyards) is run by Franco with his children Marco and Linda.

Colli Euganei (Euganean Hills) is known for its volcanic soils made up of clear siliceous rocks, often mixed with limestone of varying age and origin. Each of their vineyards comprises different soils and microclimates, producing wines that express the specific character of the terroir.

In the cellar, microvinification is carried out in order to express the most natural essence of the grapes. The wines are made with spontaneous fermentation, with no clarification and minimal sulfites, and before bottling they are blended in order to achieve the perfect balance.

Their distinctive labels combine a modern typeface with the local ancient alphabet, in tribute to the first Venetian and Euganean civilizations.
