The Clos Signadore is based in Poggio d’Olerra, near the mountainous part of Corsica and is planted with 40 year old Nielluccio vines (local variety very similar to Sangiovese).  Christophe Ferrandis established the Domaine in 2001 converting to organic production in 2010.

Having previously made wines with Domaine Pibarnon in Bandol he originally moved to Corscia to be a consultant with the co-operative.  When he discovered the older vines he was able to take a few hectares for himself.

With Corsica being such an exposed terroir, particularly to heat, careful canopy management is crucial.  100% Nielluccio, the Patrimonio Rouge is a blend of different plots throughout Christophe’s 6 hectares.

This cuvée also uses some the oldest vines, ranging from 8—50 years old. Minimal sulphur added prior to bottling.
