Beaujolais Mixed Case 2023

Benchmark new wave Beaujolais Nouveau.
Whole cluster cold carbonic maceration for only a few days, to give it a lighter, almost dark rosé colour. 2023 was a warm summer so lots of ripe fruit. Perfect for a Beaujolais breakfast. Low sulphur and unfiltered

Gamay pressed off and bottled during first fermentation, this was in our very first Beaujolais offer six years ago and sadly because this wine is so tricky to make this is the final vintage. So enjoy it whilst you still can.
Extended aging since bottling means  a vibrant freshness to balance out the wild strawberry and cherries. Party wine but also incredible with Massaman curry

From 3 small plots in Lantignié, a village always mooted as the next cru. It is certainly where some of our favourite styles of Beaujolais Villages come from.
The vines are 45-55 years old and planted on decomposed pink granite with a bedrock of granite rock. This wine is always so vibrant and lifted, so much so that its also available in 20L keykegs!

From 80 year old vines in Charentay just South East of Cotes de Brouilly. Cool carbonic fermentation for 10 days and then pressed off. This wine always overdelivers for its classification, and is classic Grand Pré in style, silky and very easy on the palate. It's really a baby Morgon in style. Just add saucisson Beaujolais for a great Apero.

The Aligoté Doré comes from a single-parcel in the village of Ige in the Maconnais. Vines are in a sloped vineyard with marl and calcaire soils giving the wine a saline, citrus note. We love this grape and this stainless steel-fermented version is such a great example. Drink with a big bowl of friture du lac covered in lemon juice.

Nicolas is one of the only growers left in Marchampt that doesn't send his grapes down to the co-operative. Instead he makes his wine in an incredibly traditional style in the old cellar on the side of his parents home. The vineyards are steep and at 600 metres above sea level, pure granite this is a wine that delivers an awful lot for it humble appellation
